Offerings to the Earth - Despacho & Fire Ceremony.

As autumn deepens and the evenings grow darker, we gather around the fire for an evening of prayer, gratitude, offering and release. We are honoured to welcome Piotr of Be Your True Self to the Moksha community, sharing a beautiful ceremonial practice from the Andean tradition - the Despacho. A Despacho is a carefully created ceremonial offering. Rather than simply being something we observe, it is something we build together with intention. Layer by layer, natural and symbolic elements are placed into the offering. Each carries meaning, prayer or gratitude. As the Despacho takes form, we are invited to reflect upon our relationship with ourselves, our communities, the natural world and that which we consider sacred.

Traditionally, Despacho ceremonies can honour Pachamama, Mother Earth the Apus, or sacred mountains, the elements and the wider forces of life. At the heart of the practice is the Andean principle of ayni - reciprocity.
