About the event
This is a trauma-informed gathering, created with care, compassion, and deep respect for the personal journeys of all who attend. Introduction to Mapacho & Hapé is an immersive experience that gently combines education, meditation, and sacred ceremony within a safe, supportive, and grounded environment.
Guided by trauma-informed facilitators Azim Nobeebaccus, Shane Cloudscapper, and Samantha Nobeebaccus, participants are invited to explore the ancient Amazonian medicines of Mapacho (Nicotiana rustica) and Hapé (pronounced ha-peh) through learning, prayer, and direct experience. Every element of this gathering honours emotional safety, personal boundaries, and the sacred wisdom of the plants, allowing each person to connect at their own pace, with trust and presence.
Part One: Introduction to Mapacho & Plant Consciousness
Facilitated by Azim Nobeebaccus
The evening opens with Azim holding and opening the space, sharing his lived experience and relationship with Papa Mapacho, one of the most revered plant allies in Amazonian traditions.
