Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to sit down with RUA on her This Is Disruption podcast, where I opened up about some deeply personal aspects of my journey. For those of you who have known me through my work at Moksha Holistic Therapies, you might see the healer who empowers others, but the path that led me here wasn’t a straight line. It was a journey of vulnerability, struggle, and transformation — one that began in the fast-paced, chaotic life of urban London and eventually brought me to a place of spiritual healing and empowerment.
In this blog, I want to reflect on the key moments I discussed with RUA and share how my own vulnerability became my strength — and how I now use that strength to help others.
Growing Up in Urban London: The Struggle for Identity
I grew up in London, surrounded by the energy of the city. For many, London is a place of opportunity, but for me, it often felt like a pressure cooker. The expectations, the constant rush, and the desire to "make it" led me into a life that was outwardly successful but inwardly empty. I chased external validation, looking for meaning in all the wrong places. Whether it was career, social status, or relationships, I was in pursuit of something that I couldn’t quite name, but always felt out of reach.
Deep down, I knew there was more to life than the surface-level achievements that society often prioritizes. I felt the call for something deeper, a spiritual connection, but it was buried beneath layers of conditioning — both from the environment I was in and my own internal struggles.
My Moment of Vulnerability
One of the pivotal moments I shared on This Is Disruption was when I hit a breaking point. I often tell my clients that healing starts when you allow yourself to be vulnerable, and my own journey was no different. My life in London had reached a point where the internal dissonance was unbearable. I wasn’t aligned with my true self, and it began manifesting in ways that I couldn’t ignore — anxiety, burnout, and a feeling of being lost.
I had to face my own vulnerability head-on, acknowledging that I was on a path that wasn’t serving me. That acknowledgment, though painful, was the first step in my transformation. Vulnerability isn’t weakness; it’s the door through which healing enters. By allowing myself to feel the discomfort of being "lost," I was able to start searching for the deeper truth that had been calling to me all along.
The Shift to Spiritual Healing
Once I embraced that vulnerability, the journey shifted. I began exploring holistic therapies, meditation, energy work, and deeper spiritual practices. These modalities helped me peel back the layers of conditioning that had kept me disconnected from my true self. The more I delved into these healing practices, the more I felt an internal shift — from confusion and frustration to clarity and peace.
It wasn’t an overnight process, and it wasn’t easy. But the more I committed to this inner work, the more I discovered a profound sense of alignment. My purpose started to emerge — not just to heal myself but to help others heal as well. I began to see that my life’s journey was meant to be shared, to guide others through their own struggles, and to empower them to embrace their vulnerability as a path to strength.
Empowering Others: The Birth of Moksha Holistic Therapies
As I continued on this spiritual path, I realized that healing is not just about fixing what’s broken; it’s about empowering yourself to live authentically and fully. This realization was the foundation of Moksha Holistic Therapies. I wanted to create a space where others could experience the same transformation — a space where they could be vulnerable, heal, and ultimately become empowered.
Today, I use a range of holistic therapies, including Reiki, Shiatsu, and Holistic Massage, to help my clients release deep-seated tension, clear energetic blockages, and reconnect with their true selves. But more than the techniques themselves, what I bring to my practice is my own lived experience — the journey from feeling lost in the chaos of urban life to finding peace and purpose through spiritual healing.
Sharing My Journey with RUA
During the podcast with RUA, I opened up about how critical it is for all of us to embrace vulnerability. The very word "disruption" — the title of her podcast — resonates with me because my journey has been one of disruption. Disrupting old patterns, breaking away from societal expectations, and forging a new path that’s aligned with my soul.
We talked about how healing isn’t linear, how it requires courage to face your shadows, and how every setback is an opportunity to realign with your truth. It was an honor to share my story with her listeners, not because it’s unique, but because it’s universal. So many of us are on similar journeys, and my hope is that by sharing mine, I can inspire others to take that first step toward their own healing.
Moving Forward: Empowerment Through Vulnerability
If there’s one key takeaway from my conversation with RUA, it’s this: vulnerability is where healing begins. Whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, trauma, or simply a feeling of being out of alignment, the first step is to allow yourself to feel it. It’s only by embracing our vulnerabilities that we can begin to heal and empower ourselves to live authentically.
I believe that every person has the ability to heal, grow, and transform. It’s why I do what I do at Moksha Holistic Therapies — to provide a safe, nurturing space for people to explore their own healing journey.
If you’re feeling called to start your own path to healing, I invite you to explore the therapies we offer. Whether it’s Reiki, Shiatsu, or another holistic modality, the journey to empowerment starts with that first step — the step of being vulnerable and open to healing.
